This schedule sets out the fees and charges for all courses delivered by UMA College, for both domestic (Local) and international (CRICOS) students. Tuition fees are GST exempt. Fees are in Australian dollars.

All training tuition fees are GST exempt under section 38-85, GSTR 2003/1. No enrolment fee applies to domestic courses. The fee structure is designed to limit the amount paid upfront and to collect fees as the course progresses.

The enrolment (application) fee is non-refundable. Tuition is paid in instalments per term as set out in the Letter of Offer. The first instalment, including the enrolment fee, materials fee and first term tuition, must be paid to obtain an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) and secure a place before the course commencement date.

Students are offered three assessment opportunities per assessment event. The re-assessment fee applies only if a student chooses to continue beyond these, and includes individual re-training.

International (CRICOS)

A late fee of 10% applies to any payment received after the scheduled due date on the Letter of Offer.

6. Payment Terms

Domestic (Local)

Fees are payable when you receive notification of enrolment and must be paid in full within 5 days of that notification. UMA College may cancel an enrolment or discontinue training if fees are not paid as required.

To protect fees paid, UMA College accepts an initial payment of no more than $1,500 from each student before course commencement. If the course costs less than $1,500, the full amount is requested before the program commences.

Payment methods: direct deposit, cheque, credit card or PayPal.

International (CRICOS)

On accepting the Letter of Offer, students pay the first instalment listed in the Course Fees Breakdown, which includes the non-refundable enrolment fee, the first tuition instalment and the materials fee. This payment is required to obtain an eCoE and secure a place before the commencement date.

Remaining tuition fees are paid in instalments by the due dates in the Letter of Offer. A late fee of 10% applies to payments received after the due date. Students with outstanding fees are not included on the class attendance sheet until those fees are paid.

7. Refunds

Domestic (Local)

  • Notice to cancel more than 10 days before commencement: 100% refund of fees paid.
  • Notice to cancel less than 10 days before commencement: 75% refund. The 25% retained covers staff and resource costs already committed.
  • Notice to cancel after the program has commenced: no refund. The Chief Executive Officer may exercise discretion for extenuating or significant personal circumstances.
  • If UMA College cannot fulfil its service agreement, the student's proportion of fees paid for services not delivered is refunded.

To obtain a refund, give written notice to cancel your enrolment and complete a Refund Request Form. Approved refunds are paid by electronic funds transfer within 14 days of the written notice.

International (CRICOS)

  • Visa refused: 100% refund of tuition fees.
  • Written withdrawal received 28 days or more before commencement: 80% refund of tuition fees.
  • Written withdrawal received less than 28 days before commencement: 50% refund of tuition fees.
  • Withdrawal on or after the commencement date: no refund of current semester tuition fees.

The enrolment application fee is not refundable under any circumstances, including visa refusal. Refunds are made in Australian dollars within 2 weeks of a written claim. Provider default is covered by the Tuition Protection Service (TPS) under the ESOS framework. Refer to the Fees and Refund Policy in the International Learner Handbook for full detail.

Frequently Asked Questions

Follow the steps below to accept your offer and secure your enrolment at UMA College:

Step 1: Review the Letter of Offer

  • Open the email sent by UMA College with the subject line “Letter of Offer – [Course Code and Title]”.
  • Download and read the attached Letter of Offer and the International Student Written Agreement carefully. Ensure all details are correct, including your course, fees, and conditions.

Step 2: Acknowledge and Sign

  1. Review the conditions on the Letter of Offer, ensuring the course and fee details align with your application.
  2. Initial each page of the Letter of Offer to confirm you have read and agreed to the contents.
  3. Sign the Student Letter of Offer Acknowledgement section included at the end of the document.
  4. Complete the International Student Written Agreement, including any required fields such as:
    • Your personal details
    • Confirmation of understanding the course fees, refund policy, and enrolment conditions
    • Signature and date.

Step 3: Return the Documents

  • Scan or take clear images of the signed Letter of Offer and the International Student Written Agreement.
  • Email the completed documents to [email protected] as instructed in your Letter of Offer email.

Step 4: Make the Payment

  • Follow the payment instructions included in the Letter of Offer to pay the initial instalment or required percentage of the total course fee. Payment options include:
    • Bank Transfer: Use the provided bank account details.
    • Credit Card: Note that a 2% surcharge applies.
  • Attach proof of payment to your email if required.

Step 5: Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)

  • Once UMA College receives your signed documents and payment, they will issue your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
  • The CoE will be emailed to you, enabling you to proceed with your student visa application.

Step 6: Prepare for Orientation

  • Refer to your Enrolment Confirmation Letter for orientation details, including date, time, and location.
  • Attend the orientation session to learn about UMA College facilities, meet trainers, and understand college policies.

Credit Transfer (CT)

  • UMA College recognises Credit Transfers for equivalent units of competency within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), regardless of the training package title.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

  • RPL assesses your prior knowledge and skills against the requirements of the course.
  • Applications should include supporting evidence such as work records, training documents, or examples of work.

How to Apply

  1. Submit the Credit Transfer or RPL Application Form during enrolment.
  2. Provide supporting documentation as evidence.
  3. An assessor will review your application and may request further evidence or an interview.

Outcome

  • Approved applications may reduce your course duration, and international students’ CoEs will be updated accordingly.

Student Visa and Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF)

When applying for a student visa under the Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF), additional evidence may sometimes be required. To check the specific requirements based on your country of passport, visit the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) website and use the UMA College CRICOS number (04318A).
