How to Apply
Applying to Study at UMA College is simple!
If you are a new student interested in studying at UMA College, you can submit your application online directly to us or apply through one of our approved education agents. To secure your place and allow adequate time to arrange your Australian student visa, we recommend applying as early as possible.

Complete online application
Once you have decided on the course(s) you would like to study at UMA College, complete the online application form.
Upon submission, you will receive a confirmation email with payment instructions.
To complete your application, please ensure you provide the following supporting documentation:
- A certified copy of your valid passport
- A certified copy of your previous studies/qualifications translated into English (refer to the UMA College Overseas Qualifications Equivalence Information Sheet if applicable)
- Proof of English language proficiency, if you are not a native English speaker (as stated in the UMA College English Proficiency Requirements)
These documents are essential to ensure your application is processed without delay.
Complete the online Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Test
Before starting your studies at UMA College, you must successfully complete the Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) online test. If you’re applying for more than one course, you only need to complete the LLN test once.
The purpose of the LLN test is to:
- Ensure you have the language, literacy, and numeracy skills necessary for your chosen course
- Identify areas where you might need additional support
- Enable UMA College to provide tailored assistance during your studies
This test is an important step in preparing for your success at UMA College.
Application review and outcome
Once UMA College receives and processes your application, you can expect to receive an outcome within 24 hours.
If successful, you will be issued a Letter of Offer outlining:
- Your chosen course(s)
- Tuition fees
- Terms and conditions
The offer may either be a full offer or a conditional offer requiring further documentation.
To secure your place, you will need to:
- Formally accept the Letter of Offer
- Make any necessary payments as outlined in the Letter of Offer
Once your acceptance and payment are confirmed, UMA College will issue your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
With your CoE, you can proceed to apply for a student visa. If you are applying through an education agent, they will assist you with your visa application.

How do I accept my Letter of Offer?
Follow the steps below to accept your offer and secure your enrolment at UMA College:
Step 1: Review the Letter of Offer
- Open the email sent by UMA College with the subject line “Letter of Offer – [Course Code and Title]”.
- Download and read the attached Letter of Offer and the International Student Written Agreement carefully. Ensure all details are correct, including your course, fees, and conditions.
Step 2: Acknowledge and Sign
- Review the conditions on the Letter of Offer, ensuring the course and fee details align with your application.
- Initial each page of the Letter of Offer to confirm you have read and agreed to the contents.
- Sign the Student Letter of Offer Acknowledgement section included at the end of the document.
- Complete the International Student Written Agreement, including any required fields such as:
- Your personal details
- Confirmation of understanding the course fees, refund policy, and enrolment conditions
- Signature and date.
Step 3: Return the Documents
- Scan or take clear images of the signed Letter of Offer and the International Student Written Agreement.
- Email the completed documents to [email protected] as instructed in your Letter of Offer email.
Step 4: Make the Payment
- Follow the payment instructions included in the Letter of Offer to pay the initial instalment or required percentage of the total course fee. Payment options include:
- Bank Transfer: Use the provided bank account details.
- Credit Card: Note that a 2% surcharge applies.
- Attach proof of payment to your email if required.
Step 5: Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
- Once UMA College receives your signed documents and payment, they will issue your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
- The CoE will be emailed to you, enabling you to proceed with your student visa application.
Step 6: Prepare for Orientation
- Refer to your Enrolment Confirmation Letter for orientation details, including date, time, and location.
- Attend the orientation session to learn about UMA College facilities, meet trainers, and understand college policies.

How do I apply for Course Credit or RPL?
Credit Transfer (CT)
- UMA College recognises Credit Transfers for equivalent units of competency within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), regardless of the training package title.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
- RPL assesses your prior knowledge and skills against the requirements of the course.
- Applications should include supporting evidence such as work records, training documents, or examples of work.
How to Apply
- Submit the Credit Transfer or RPL Application Form during enrolment.
- Provide supporting documentation as evidence.
- An assessor will review your application and may request further evidence or an interview.
Outcome
- Approved applications may reduce your course duration, and international students’ CoEs will be updated accordingly.

Student Visa and Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF)
When applying for a student visa under the Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF), additional evidence may sometimes be required.
