This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Specific licensing/regulatory requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training should be obtained from the relevant national/state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authorities.

Purpose To be able to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in an emergency situation for workplace and community settings.

Pre-requisite to other courses
Duration The course is delivered over 6 hours of face-to-face learning and assessment after approximately 2 hours of pre-course online learning.
Training is delivered at: 19-20 Enterprise Ave, Padstow, NSW 2211
Entry Requirements UMA College requires learners to be aged 16 years or older and present photo Identification prior to course commencement.
Qualification Requirements On successfully completing the training and assessment you will be issued a Statement of Attainment issuing you the unit of competency: HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Assessment Requirements The assessment requires the learner to complete a written knowledge assessment and demonstrate their applied knowledge and skills during a practical assessment.
Delivery Mode Delivery of this course will be trainer led and face-to-face in a classroom setting combined with skills practice and assessment in a simulated environment.
Materials or Equipment Required Learners should attend the course in comfortable clothing. All equipment and consumables are supplied as part of the course.
